We will be staying 3 months in Someraro, near Stresa, on Lake Maggiore. I know we are n the Piedmonte region but does not seem we are close to the Borrolo wine region. Am I correct? What vineyards and wineries are closer please?

We have stayed in Stresa but the vineyards and wineries are to the western part of the Piemonte.

Someraro is about 200 km from Barolo. While in Someraro make sure you eat at least one meal at Al Rustico. It is definitely a locals restaurant and the food is great.

You are at least 2 hours away from the tip of the Barolo region, which is not that large. Here:

Most restaurants will have good Barola and Barbera d'Alba wines at a fair price which, penny for penny, are superior to Tuscan wines.
