I'm planning a 24-day trip to Italy for Sept 2012. I will be visiting Venice, The Dolomites, Lake Maggiore, CT & then the Amalfi Coast. I was planning to spend 2-3 days in Lake Maggiore and 5 days in either Sorrento or Positano to explore the Amalfi Coast. As I'm reading up on the Amalfi Coast, I'm finding so many things that I'd like to see/do and I'm wondering if I should forego L. Maggiore & add those days to the Amalfi Coast. If you've visited L. Maggiore & the Amalfi Coast, can you please give me your thoughts on this? I'm just not sure that L. Maggiore is going to live up to my expectations & I'm wondering if that time would be better spent on the Amalfi Coast. The reason I'm considering L. Maggiore is because I loved Varenna/Lake Como and I'm hoping for a similiar experience in L. Maggiore. Photography is our main focus. I appreciate any feedback you can give me.
