My family of 4 will be staying in Riva di Solto on the shore of Lake Iseo for a few days in early July. I am looking for restaurant and hike recommendations. My kids are 11 and 14, somewhat picky eaters but not too bad. As for hiking, I am looking for a place where we can get up into high alpine terrain in a reasonable day hike (probably 5-10 mile RT). I like the look of the mountains north of the lake but am a bit overwhelmed by the possibilities.
A lovely part of Italy. I agree, the rock carvings of the Val Camonica are really unique and memorable. Seeing them also includes a very nice hike through forest and field.
