Lake Garda visit?

We have only 2 days to visit this area hopefully by public transport. I do not see it it Rick's guidebks and wonder if it is wonderful sim to Lake Maggiore or Lake Como. What is there to do and see? If we do not go then we get 2 xtra days for the Dolomites. Any advice is appreciated.

Garda offers more to do than the other lakes. Including Safari with real lions, giraffes etc. and a spectacular theme park called Gardaland (if you have kids, a must). Garda's beaches are also the best.
The best places IMO are in the north lake (basically where the lake narrows) north of Salo' on the western side or north of Garda on the eastern side. My favorite town is Limone, but all of them are quaint and pretty. On the south side Sirmione is a must (full of tourists though). You can take boat rides and from Malcesine you can take a huge gondola to the top of Monte Baldo where you can see a million dollar view. The rest of the time just enjoy eating and drinking at the many cafes along the lake. Or just sit back and relax. Life if beautiful.
The dolomites are equally beautiful. If you have time do both the lake and the dolomites. They are in the same area.
