We will be staying in Lake Garda for three nights in either Peschiera or Desenzano because of the available train access. Suggested town between the two? Day trips - Verona, possibly Sirmione. Venice might be a long shot. Luxury hotels with lake view suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Peschiera has a more relevant historic significance (it's also a UNESCO site). Desenzano is popular for the vibrant night life, and probably has more dining options, so it's probably preferred by the younger crowd. Both are good options. If you intend to take day trips to Verona or the Veneto side of the lake (Garda, Bardolino, Lasize, Malcesine), then you have more bus options from Peschiera. Sirmione is in between the two so it's within easy reach from either. Sirmione gets very crowded with day trippers, especially on weekends and high season. Have never stayed overnight in this area of the lake, but you can go to GoogleMaps, click on hotels, then filter for hotels that have 4 or 5 stars. Those are certainly more upscale, and from the photos or also in their respective websites you can see if they have rooms with lake view.

we stayed in bardolino on the lkae several years ago, with a ferry stop, for their annual wine festival (festa dell uva). it was fabulous, gorgeous views of lake & mountains. many talk about the upper lake towns are really nice, we were happy drinking bardolino wines, great restaurants, bars, shops, we had a car to drive so drove a little north 2 lane road. had to get back to venice for our greek island cruise.
the lake has grown more popular with lake como becoming a zoo, along with simione invaded by tourists doing many private van/buses/on their own tours/taxis, boats. worse than a can of sardines, grumpy, pushy, undesirable people until later afternoon daytrippers. to me ruined by social media/tiktok/instagram. we like to go to smaller towns to enjoy
your 3 nights will go by real fast, check in times are 3-4pm and check out times is 10-11am. you have 2 full days to explore. i would stay on lake with only 2 full days, no day trips, just enjoy the lake. my own opinion enjoy & have fun

We stayed in Desenzano del Garda last time there. Hotels and the waterfront area are an easy walk or short taxi ride from the train station. Get a single day or two day pass and ride the ferry to visit Bardolino, Sirmione, Lazise, and Garda on the southern / southeastern part of the lake.
