My husband and I are thinking of staying on the south end of Lake Garda on our way from Venice to Milan. Does anyone have hotel recommendations for Desenzano del Garda? I'm looking for a location that would have easy access to the train (if there is easy access). I am not set on Desenzano. I'm open to other locations on the Lake. I'm looking for hotels in the Euro 125 or less range. We are not opposed to staying in convents.

I'm also considering a stay on Lake Garda this year, and will probably stay in Sirmione. I haven't worked out all the details yet, but the two rail stations in the area are Desenzano del Garda/Sirmione and Peschiera del Garda. I'm assuming there will be Taxis or Buses available for transport from station to the hotel.
I don't have much information on hotels in that area yet, but you may get some ideas by having a look at the Trip Advisor listings for Sirmione or the T.A. listings for Desenzano del Garda.
Check out Booking.com as well. They have reviews from users, as well as pricing and availability. We are staying in Limone this September, but that is on the north side of the Lake. We will have a car too.
