In a previous post I read that ferries will be available on the lake past the currently published 8 October schedule.
We will be there from 20-24 October 2023. Does anyone know if the schedule after the current listing will have ferries
running daily or will they only run a few times a week. So many activities I have checked out do not have the activities going
after the first day of October so I am wondering if there is going to be enough things to keep us busy this late in October.
I know sitting outside and enjoying the beauty will be available but I was hoping to stay a little busier.
Any suggestions appreciated. Rescheduling to an earlier date is not an option.
Thanks again.
A lot will depend on the weather as well. End of October could be rainy. But where exactly are you staying? Besides the pretty towns (Sirmione, Malcesine, Limone, Riva, Torbole, etc.), there is also the possibility of visiting Verona from there. Depending on which town you are staying, it's not a long journey to Verona.
When I lived there it was very quiet end of October and weather can definitely limit outdoor activities (although the lake is still so beautiful in all seasons and walking/exploring is great even if cool but not raining) . Ferries were on a more limited schedule than summer. Now there may be more visitors in shoulder seasons but , I agree, visiting a bigger nearby city like Verona or Brescia from the lake would provide added action and activities.
We were there in late April and I remember looking at the ferry schedule and noticing that it is reduced in the fall but that there is some ferry running all the time because many people who live there use it to go to work etc. I’m sure the info is available online or if you can’t locate, contact the hotel where you will be staying. I have to agree that is the best and cheapest way to see that beautiful olaceZ
