Lake Como versus Sorrento with kids

Which of these 2 areas would be more kid friendly for the ages of 15, 12 and 10? Thanks

My personal opinion is that Sorrento would be better: climbing Vesuvius, visiting Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples (National Archaeological Museum and Napoli Sotterranea (Subterranean), exploring the Amalfi Coast, Isles of Capri and Ischia, ferries/hydrofoils for transportation, plus swimming, hiking, etc.

Lake Como is absolutely spectacular, and it is a great place to relax, but I don't think that there is as much to do. You can also do lots of swimming, hiking, kayaking, exploring via ferries, etc. But, I don't think that there are sites that can compete with what I mentioned above.

I agree with Leslie. We took our 4 year old to Sorrento and he LOVEd it. There is nothing like Pompeii and we also climbed Mt. Vesuvius and he has never forgottent that. One can swim in the bay, and there are great cheap pizza restaurants. He is ten now and we are soon going to Lake Como., just to see a new place in Italy. There is not as much to do, but we are going to go see the Villas where part of Star Wars and James Bond was filmed.

Sorrento with Pompeii/Vesuvius. Not as much for kids to do at Lake Como.
