Lake Como train ride Swiss Alps

Here is our ideal senario.. Southwest Florida RSW to Sardina, Catania, Lake Como, Swiss Alps train ride. We are having trouble creating connective flights without going all over the globe. Some flights are taking us all the way up to Germany to go back down to Catania. And the prices are outrageous unless we do give in to lengthy plane rides that seem to be less expensive but taking us hours in flight. We can’t seem to figure it out. We are flexible with the days in Catania and Como we have an opportunity in Sardinia from September 6 to the 13th so that is non flexible. I don’t want to get to Cumo with no or in between foliage. We are also OK with flying back to the east coast of Florida and driving from Fort Lauderdale or Miami to SW Florida

If you google Sardinia to Catania, your flight options will appear. Ryan Air has direct flights. There are several others that connect in Rome.

You can’t schedule autumn leaves. They will change when they are good and ready. Late September may be too early.

Look into the Bernina Express from Tirano, Italy. It’s easy to get to from Varenna on Lake Como.

Its too early to really plan flights at this time, as much of your trip is more than 330 days out.

Looks like you could break it up into one set of tickets to/from Europe, and one set internal Italy with discount airlines, like Ryanair and Easyjet. Offhand, I see you can do RSW to Olbia and Zurich to RSW with a single change in Frankfurt on Lufthansa.
