Lake Como Tour from Milan

We were planning to travel to Lake Como from Milan for a day trip on our own via trains. I was looking at the website for a tour company mentioned in Rick’s book for tours of Milan and saw the tour below. I am wondering if anyone has taken this tour or if there is any feedback after looking at the itinerary. I have traveled via train several times before but this tour looks reasonable and would add some extra relaxation. This will be the last day before we fly home. Thanks!

You could that, or cobble something together on your own.
Train from Milano Cadorna station, west of the Piazza Duomo, to Como Nord Lago station costs 4.80 EUR each way. Its a short walk along the lake to to the Ferry terminal. You could take a tour like this for 25.80 EUR:

Or a circle tour ticket to Nesso. It is hop-on hop-off as long as you keep making progress to Nesso, then return, hop-on hop-off to Como for 14.70 EUR.

Or just go ala carte with individual tickets to/from where ever you want.

Also, you could work your way up the lake and return from Varenna train station. Buy tickets at the tabacchi for the train returning to Milano Centrale,

@Stan - yep, I know. The Lugano stop is intriguing. We went to Switzerland last year and just loved it so the idea of going there, if only for a short stop, makes me happy!

@Sam - thanks for all the info, I will be looking into everything you shared.
