Lake Como Stays and Best Northern Beaches & Thermal Bath

Arriving into Milan on 22 June for 3 weeks without car. Would like a reasonable price, charming B&B or pensions, welcoming owners with kitchen and a view in the Lake Como, Cinque Terre, Verona areas or any recommendations you have would be appreciated---I am open and flexible--what places did you love for clean beaches and that have lasting memories in your mind. I am middle age and don't want to shelp(sp) my luggage around.
I love open food Markets and Fresh farm eggs, fish and meat and milk. How many days in each place is is enough???
Mille Grazie,

At Lake Como try Alberghetto La Marianna (just google it) in Cadenabbia. It is small, convenient and very clean. The owner Paola puts out a a great breakfast (she'll even scramble an egg if you like). The rooms in front have a wonderful view of the lake - directly across from Bellagio - a fantastic bit of scenery at sunset. However, most every hotel in that area sits directly on the busy road so the rooms that face the lake can be noisy. We stayed in a room in back and were very comfortable.

It is a very short walk from the hotel to the ferry landing to Bellagio.

The real highlight of the inn is the restaurant run by Paola's husband Ty. He is a wonderful chef. He makes great wine recommendations and he speaks English. He serves a limited menu that is different every night - what a treat those meals were for us. Have fun.

I stayed at Villa Cipresse last May: http://www.hotelvillacipressi.it/
A beautiful hotel in quiet Varenna with gorgeous views, very accommodating staff, and lovely gardens in which to roam. The rooms were clean and spacious, very "Swiss" in their decor. For a great meal, there was a restaurant that Rick recommended, run by a husband/wife (I've forgotten the name). They will come down the hill into Varenna, pick you up and take you to the restaurant. The food was out of this world! The husband just kept bringing delicious things to the table and we ate family style...I'll never forget that gnocchi!
