Am in the midst of planning a Northern Italy trip next spring. My husband enjoys time on the water, wondering which would be best for a few days ( Venice is already included in the plan). Thanks
We faced a similar choice and decided on Lake Como and were very happy with our choice. It was more convenient for us (flew into Milan and out of Venice) and I was worried about the hoards of tourists in the Cinque Terre. If you are also going to Florence (we were not), Cinque Terre would be less out of your way.
Devoid of any details that might affect the logistics, I vote Lake Como.
Lake Como. If you said "Hades or CT", I might suggest Hades. CT is beautiful but overcrowded. My opinion, others will vary.
Thanks for the input. Wasn’t sure if CT would be as crowded in Early April but think I will just plan on Lake Como.
I would choose based on the entire itinerary and what fits in best.
If you are not hikers, there are better places to be on the water than CT.
Another vote for Lake Como. We stay in Varenna at hotel Du Lac, ask for a room on the lake with a balcony. They have a great happy hours.
We been to Lake Como twice and will return next year. It that type of place....
Have a great trip!
