Lake Como mid lake ferry

It looks like "around 7" is the case, at least on the current schedules.

7:40pm from Bellagio or 8pm from Varenna.
However the last ferry to Cadenabbia departs well after 11pm from either.
From Cadenabbia you’d need to catch a taxi and I don’t know how easy it would be late at night. You could walk, but it’s at least 45 min walk from Cadenabbia to Menaggio (about 2 miles).
There are also water taxis that can take you across, however unless you have a sizable group it would be pricey.

My son and I walked from Cadenabbia to Menaggio, looking for a grocery store. I would not recommend it, especially at night. There is no sidewalk on part of the route, and even though there is a speed limit, it did not seem like anyone was following it.

We tried to find a cab to take us back from the grocery store, but did not see any at the ferry dock. I wonder if you need to arrange a cab in advance. We did not see anything that looked like a taxi stand.

Thank you for your response...a real life saver... as we would not want to be walking back in the dark. We will make different plans.

I don’t know when you go but in summer Menaggio is very vibrant at night. There is a live classical concert on the Piazza Garibaldi every night. You can visit the other places during the day but plan to be in Menaggio for dinner. Lots of sidewalk restaurants too. It’s the biggest if the mid lake towns do you do have choices.
