Hello! My husband and I will be in Lake Como on the tail-end of our 15 anni. trip July 7-10 (first part will be in Switzerland). We have booked our hotel but would love any and all recs for must-do activities/sights, restaurants, etc... TIA!!

It would help to know which of the many towns along Lake Como you'll be staying in. You might find it helpful to have a look at the RS Italy guidebook, which you may be able to find in your local library or larger bookstores.

We spent a great day ferry hopping from one town to another, exploring each a bit further than just the town itself. In Bellagio we walked for several miles out beyond the town, found a co-op market, bought some picnic fixings and brought that back near the lake for a lovely dinner with wine, cheese, bread, fruit, etc.

I would recommend that you try to visit Villa Balbianello. When we were staying in Varenna last May, we hired Varenna Taxi boat for a group tour of the mid Lake region as well as a private tour of the Villa. That tour was a highlight of our stay. I would suggest a lovely walk around Varenna. It was our favorite village in the mid lake region.
