Hi everyone, Planning a trip to Italy with our family (kids age 13, 11 & 8) and was thinking about hitting Lake Como on the last 2 days. Do you think mid-April is a good time to go? Obviously too cold for swimming, which is fine. I'm just concerned things won't be open or the town will be dead or boring. Thank you!
We were in Como first week of May and all was good to go. However, we did a week in Rome on a previous trip from Palm Sunday and there for Easter Sunday. There was still plenty to see and do. The weather in April/May was definitely a little cooler but clear and sunny.
We were there the third week of April 2018. Stayed in Varenna at Albergo Milano. The weather was beautiful. Flowers everywhere.
And we did not see anything closed.
I was there in April last year and all was fine. Chilly at times (esp. on ferries), but everything was open.
