Looking for some advise on Lake Como. Going end of February. I know this is off season and a lot of hotels shut down but still plenty of airbnbs. Is it still worth going to visit this time of year? Alternativerly I can just stay in Switzerland longer or visit Lugano for a few days. Thank you for all your insight!
If the weather happens to be nice on those days, it will be fine, probably less cold than on the Northern watershed of the Alps in Switzerland (which is also considerably more expensive than Italy). Lugano is also nice to visit, but you can visit both Lugano and Lake Como easily. There is a bus that connects Lugano to Menaggio on Lake Como back and forth. Less than one hour and you are there.
