Lake Como in April?

I am starting to plan a short trip to Como over the Easter weekend, but then realized that hotels/restaurants/shops may not be open due to the season and holiday. Does anyone know if the lake area will be worth seeing in April - over a religious holiday?

I don't know how Easter will affect it. But the weather is also relevant to your decision and here's a weather site http://www.wunderground.com/tripplanner/index.asp, put in your dates and location and it will summarize the averages for the last 10 years for that location and that span of time.

I have stayed in March and some days were Sunny and some rainy. I am also visiting in April this year Easter week. If it is not raining Villas should be beautiful.

I visited Lake Como right near the end of April and it was definitely worth it. The weather was fine, there were definitely other visitors, and most everything seemed to be open and running.

I am not there right now, but some very good friends of mine are in Lenno, 10 minutes south of Menaggio. They say it is sunny, with blue skies but cold. The restaurants are open as well as the shops. I am not sure if the ferries are on a limited schedule or not. They have sent photos and the photos are to die for...blue skies, blue water and snow capped mountains. The snow caps are like icing on the cake. I don't think the palm trees are unfurled yet. We go in the summer, so we don't see the snow caps, but the photos look so magnificent. It would be best to check the weather as a previous poster posted.

We spoke with our friends and they say the towns and restaurants are bustling and the tour buses are packed. He is there every Easter. Mind you, I am only a messenger.
