We are wanting to go to Como from Venice and back, stay for 2-3 days. Have never been. Is there a tour company or 4 or 5 star hotel that would provide tour guides. We have heard of Villa d’este for years but worth the price? Others that are in that league less expensive? Going in April

Mid - lake has the most beautiful scenery- Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio, Cadenabbia. Villa d’Este is in the southern part of the lake.Villa Serballoni is on the waterfront in Bellagio. .
Stay in Bellagio and take a boat tour of the lake.

On the topic of "nearby", you could also stay in Varenna, which is just across from Bellagio (about 20 minutes by ferry). If you're travelling by train, that's a very convenient location as there's a rail station there. Thanks. I have contacted Villa Serbelloni A main question is do we spend 2 or 3 days? We want to spend time cruising the lake and visiting different areas. What are best areas to visit? We would leave early am on 3rd /4th day to Milan for a 12:50 take off.
