Lake Como ferry question/Confusion

I was looking to purchase tickets on line from Bellagio to Menaggio would like to take the express which is around 35 mins. The confusion is it states you can't purchase express pass on line but have to purchase them in person You get the Attention
You have included express service or selected accompanying vehicle: you can purchase these services ONLY at the on-site ticket offices.
To purchase online, uncheck the "include express service" or "accompanied vehicle" boxes.

but when you uncheche the Include express service it say this ticket is valid for any ferry routes Purchasing tickets online is not considered a reservation and does not entitle you to priority boarding. Tickets are valid for one day and can be used on any scheduled ferry service on the purchased route.

the confusion is it's the same exact schedule

Also another question is do you have to use the exact time you choose when purchasing the ticket or is the ticket valid at any time the ferry departs?

Thanks finally depart tomorrow Yeah

We could never get the online system to work. We were there May, 2025. Purchase ferry tickets as soon as the ticket office opens in the morning, for same day tickets, good for all day in the Middle Lakes area.
The lines for both tickets and the actual ferry can get really long as the day progresses, so plan on early exploration and return to home base. We found that by 4pm the waits were over an hour.
Enjoy this beautiful area.

We visited Lake Como last month. We purchased online tickets for Midlake ferry legs in advance of our trip. Though the website asks you for time of day when you purchase the tickets, it is only the day that matters. You can take that particular ferry at any time on that day. For that reason, the website informs you that you are not guaranteed a spot on the ferry at the time you selected on the website. If the line is long, and there is no room on the ferry, you will need to wait for the next ferry even though you purchased a ticket in advance. We didn't have any issues getting on the ferries we wanted. The lines were non-existent at Bellagio for the 9ish am ferries. The lines did get long in the afternoon, but I didn't see anyone being told that there wasn't any room left on the ferries. I was surprised by the infrequency of some ferry routes. For example, when we needed to take a ferry from Lenno to Bellagio, we were surprised that it would be a two hour wait for the next ferry if we didn't catch the one leaving in 5 minutes. My advice is to arrive at the ferry dock 20 minutes in advance.

great advice thanks I ended up buying the tickets online their ticket seems odd that they sent in the email seems more like a receipt, So what do just show the boarding attendant what they send via the email? I would think there would be at least a QR Code Thanks

You show them what they sent you in the email, a PDF. There is no QR code. Enjoy your trip.
