Hi,
I'm visiting Lake Como in late April 2027. I saw that ferries stop running in the central lake area anytime 8:30-10pm. On other trips to Italy I've encountered restaurants that don't even start their dinner service until 9 pm. Do we need to plan dinners early if we want to eat in a city different from where we are staying? If I'm staying in Varenna, can I have an 8 pm dinner in Bellagio? Are there private taxi boats when the ferries stop? I haven't seen anyone mention this, so I want to assume it's not a problem, but I figured I would check. Thanks! Any other tips about highlights in the area or restaurants are appreciated! We have a group of 6.
Hi! I was just in Bellagio last week. I’m trying to link in a weekday ferry schedule, but it looks like there are ferries that run between Varenna and bellagio until 11:00 or so. Please be sure to check for a current schedule while you are there. There are 2 ferry docks in Bellagio - one for the car/people ferry and one just for passengers. The docks aren’t far apart, but you’d want to be sure you’re at the right one.

Water taxis between Varenna and bellagio will run you about €250 euros for a 10-15 minute ride.
The link above shows the summer schedule. I suspect (but am not certain) that there will be fewer departures in April. I wouldn't be surprised if the last departures are earlier in the evening.
I hope the winter schedule will soon be available on the website so you can check the practicality of dining in Bellagio while staying in Varenna.
