Lake Como Ferries

Hi Everyone,

We will be traveling to Lake Como Italy in April next year (2019). All of the ferry timetables that are available on the net suggest there are no ferries before late May.
Can someone please tell us if that is correct? The Tourist Offices do not answer correspondence so I'm hoping someone out there can help.It wou;ld sure seem odd that a place like Lake Como would not have ferries running year round.
Many thanks
Terry R.

We have always traveled there in the fall but have been told that April is the best time as the flowers are in bloom. They must have ferry service then if that is the case.
Maybe if you email a hotel or two to ask? Try the 5* Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio and their Concierge would most likely answer your question.

Yes ferry service is year round, but you just have to wait until the spring schedule comes out sometime in the winter to see it. Obviously tourist type excursions are reduced or eliminated, but cars still need to get across the lake and locals need it as well.

I didn't see any sarcasm. Smile and enjoy the experience.

The ferry schedules are always in two parts, the winter one and the summer one. If you did around on the interwebs you may be able to find an old winter one which will give you an idea of how the off-season goes.

To find a response from the tourist office, have you looked in your spam folder?

International calling can be cheap or indeed free many ways, have you tried calling them during their opening hours.

I've found the boats on Lake Como relaxing and fun. I'm sure you will too.

Thanks Nigel,
There have been no responses from the Tourist Offices at this point however I now understand ferries run all year round, albeit on different schedules in Summer and winter. Thank you all for your help even, Roberto who wins the prize for sarcasm.
Regards to you all

If you consider a common sense observation as sarcasm, then so be it. Maybe to you, and possibly others, it was. I didn't see it that way and I'm sure many of us here who are used to Roberto's 'in your face' style, didn't say it that way - we just chuckled.
