I'm arriving at Casselle airport in July. I visited Turin and Aosta once, over 10 years ago.
Main interests are scenery so I'd like to spend a couple of nights in Turin then drive to Aosta for Montebianco from the Italian side (I've been to Chamonix, been up to Aiguille du Midi) and possibly Breuil-Cervina as well.
In my previous visit, Courmayeur and Breuil-Cervina were both closed. It was early June and I believe Courmayeur had an avalanche warning.
So I'm thinking in terms of 3 nights in Aosta, 4 nights in Aosta. Then I'd return the car and train to Malpensa,, from which I'd drive to Ticino.
But I'm considering maybe spending an extra night in Torino to drive down to Laghe. I'm not necessarily interested in winery visits or wine tastings -- would be driving anyways.
Instead I'm more interested in scenery like La Morra and Grizane Cavour, to see how the landscapes compare to Val d'Orcia.
Is it worth the extra day/night? Or is the appeal of Laghe more limited if one isn't an oenophile?
