I am planning to rent a car in Pisa or Siena for about trhee or four days to drive around La Toscana. My questions: What are the must see places? Towns, vineyards, wineries, and scenic roads?
Travelling on a budget and favoring Italian pensiones and family houses, do youi have any recommendations. Have thought on the perfect itinerary for three or four days? Grazie tante!!!

Do you have the RS Florence/Tuscany book yet? It will be an excellent resource to help you figure out what best matches your interests, as opposed to the interests of others who happen to read your posting. That and the Italy book will be the smartest money you spend on your trip. Happy travels.

We like to stay at one or two places as a base and then drive around for the day.
I would suggest the Chianti area--Greve Panzano and Southern Tuscany--Montalcino Montepulciano Pienza
