We will be on a cruise ship docking in La Spezia and would like to visit Lucca for the day . We have 10 hours.
What is the best way to get to Lucca from the port of La Spezia giving optimal time to enjoy.

Taxi from Port to train station.
Train from La Spezia to Lucca (change required at either Viareggio or Pisa depending on time of travel).
Train travel time just over 1 hr to 1.5 hours each way depending on which train. The taxi ride is probably 10 min at most, but not sure how long it takes to disembark and get a taxi since there will be many cruisaders wanting to do the same (never taken a cruise in my life).

It is feasible for you to visit Pisa & Lucca if you choose to. After visiting Lucca, you take train to Pisa (Pisa Centrale) then train back to La Spezia (Centrale)
