Hi,
My wife and I will be taking the train from La Spezia to Venice. It stops in Pisa and Florence. The arrival time and departure time for the connection in Pisa is 16 minutes. Is this doable? How big is the Pisa station?

The Pisa station is not very large, and 16 minutes is enough time to change trains.
Train travel is inexpensive in Italy and something they actually do very well.

It's absolutely doable. As David said, Pisa Centrale (I'm guessing that's where you make the switch) is not really very large.

Be careful with your phrasing ...
When you say "it stops in Pisa and Florence", I think you mean "we change trains in Pisa and Florence".
You don't want confusion when you are short of time.
