La Scala tickets Milan

Any recommendations on best way to look into pricing and availability for Opera tickets to La Scala in Milan for July?

Only to say that when I went (many years ago) I just walked over on the day of the performance and bought a ticket. The ease/difficulty of doing that probably depends what's on and whether you care about the location of your seats.

The main thing that struck me about La Scala was the very small size of the seats. You can really tell that it was built a long time ago when the average person was somewhat smaller.

Go to their website: http://www.teatroallascala.org/en/index.html
There is stuff going on there through July 22, then they go on vacation. Looks like a couple of ballets, Midsummer Nights Dream and Swan Lake, and La Boheme for opera. The last performance of a given run is advertised at 50% off. That would be La Boheme on July 14, and the ballets on July 21 and 22.

Be sure to look at the view from the specific seats. They provide an image. It's a very different setup than the usual theaters here, but absolutely worth the cost!

Just walked over the night of the performance and got a 25 euro ticket, which was one of the best sets in the house. I don't think it's necessary to prebook.
