Has anyone had experience in obtaining reasonably priced tickets to La Scala events that have been sold out? For example, through ticket exchanges, or the 140 tickets per event that appear to be available each day, or is there some place in Milan where tickets may be available on the day of the event, or are there tickets for sale on the street? Tratraviata tickets sold out in 8 minutes last night (2:00 am) when they went on sale at the box office.
Yes, it can be dificult to get tickets for La Scala... here's a website that shows all the "other" ticket outlets where you can get tickets:

My wife and I went to La Scala last year and saw Lady Macbeth (OPERA LEDI MAKBET MCENKOGO UEZDA in Russian - thank god for subtitles). The opera was ... wierd, but La Scala was incredible. One of the most beautiful opera houses we've been in - glad we went. This was the only opera avaiable during our vacation time.
We did purchase our tickets on line from the Teatro Scala box office and picked them up on arival. Good Luck - worth the hunt!
