La Scala museum/Do you see anything of the theatre?

When you visit the La Scala museum and are not on a guided tour, do you have a chance to see a glimpse of the theatre?

It has been years but that is what I remember is that we stepped into one of the boxes to the side.

The tour is worth it. Even better, the tour to see the Last Supper usually includes tour of La Scala. Not into a big bus tour, but this one was worth it.

We were there last year. We did not hire a tour, just purchased tickets to see the museum. During that, we had time to go into the theater (in a box near the rear) while the performers were on a break.

This access is based on availability. Some days, there are rehearsals and no access to the theater, so you'll want to check with the office. I think I wrote ahead of time to see about access on the date we would be in Milan.

The place is quite impressive. And the collection you will see in the museum area is equally impressive. I went to LaScala with my daughter, who majored in music education in college. My intention was for her to see one of the great performing arts venues in the history of the world. I found plenty to enjoy there myself.
