La Papessa in Rome

Can anyone tell me if they have stayed here and what they though of it? I could have sworn that I had read info about it on Rick's website, but now I can't find it.

Melanie - are you referring to the B&B right off of Via del Corso? I stayed there 2yrs ago. At the time the rooms were new (renovated) and clean. The location is central and convenient, but you might need ear plugs as there is traffic noise all night. Also, there is someone at the front desk for a few hrs in the morning to check-out guests, there is no one there during the rest of the day/night. If you have problems you are told to call the cell phone of one of the workers.
Lastly, the price seems steep for what you get. There are packaged cookies and pastries, and a coffee maker. This is what they regard as breakfast. Quite a poor selection, and for the E175/night that they charge for a single room, I think you can do better in a 3/2star hotel.

Well that makes me worry. Cookies for breakfast and no one at the front desk. Makes me want to start looking for something else. Anyone else stay there?

Italians generally don't do breakfast the way we do. Coffee and a brioche are typical for that meal in Italy. I have had full breakfasts in a few hotels in Italy. Read the hotel's info before reserving. For budget hotels, I go out to the nearest bar and buy a cappuccino and brioche. It's much better and fresher than the packaged stuff.

I went ahead and changed my booking. I feel that with my 9 year old daughter travelling with us, I want her to have more than a cookie or pastry for breakfast. And I also think that I will feel more secure in a larger hotel that has someone at the front desk 24/7.
