I have used the official website and I have tried repeatedly without success to buy tickets to a performance in October of this year (2023). I have tried using different cards (VISA & MasterCard) and different browsers (Safari and Google). Nevertheless, I have been unsuccessful. I keep getting messages that there is a problem with the card and that I need to contact the card-issuing bank. The banks advise me that the problem is not at their end. I reached out to the hotel where I have a reservation and they advised me that regrettably they could not help me. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, has anyone figured out how to resolve the problem? Thanks in advance for whatever suggestions you might offer.

You are probably getting held up by the Italian bank's requirement for 3-D security, where your bank sends you a one time code during the transaction which you then put in to guarantee it is you and not a stolen card. You have to have this set up in advance with your bank, and your bank may not even support this.
Edit, Do You have an American Express Card? Their website says they accept it and it sometimes it by-passes the -D security feature.

Can you use a PayPal account? I purchased an opera ticket for La Fenice, and if my credit card won’t work with their system I default to using PayPal.
