Know any good restaurants in Positano?

I will be there this summer so please tell me if you have any recommendations. Also, if you know restaurants in florence, siena, montepulciano, and rome that would be helpful! Thanks!

You're probably going to get a million dif. answers for these, especially since it sometimes depends on the kindness of waitstaff =) I haven't been to Positano... but my 2 fav. restaurants were:

Florence: Tratorria Za-Za's (order something with truffle sauce, soooo good. Plus, it's on this cute square right off the San Lorenzo marker - perfect for people watching).

Siena: Ristorante Guidoriccio, really really good food, and super nice people. Right off il Campo. Both are in Rick's book.

If you haven't already, check out the "Share your feedback" section of the graffitti wall - then click on the region/country. I used this to look up people's fav. restaurants for my trip last year, and found it to be very helpful. Happy eating! I'm jealous!

Don't recall the name, but there's a nice, relatively inexpensive (for Positano) restaurant on Viale Cristoforo just beyond the intersection of Via Colombo and Via Mulini (the street that leads down to the beach). You'll see a simple sign and stairs down to the restaurant on your left just before the big curve in the street. No views, but good food. They only sell wine by the bottle, but it's fairly priced - a 9 EUR bottle at the wine shop was 14 EUR at the restaurant. In Montepulciano, there's a great new restaurant at the end of the street to the right of the duomo (just before the park). It's small, so ask your hotel to call for resevations. Aquacheta is rustic, but has good food - especially meats. Again, reservations would be wise. Be sure to try Contucci Vino di Nobile while you're in Montepulciano - very nice local wine.

The restaurant in Positano Frank suggested is, I believe, called Il Mulino Verde - the Green Mill. Or it could be the Old Mill (Mulino Vecchio). Anyway, it's Mulino something.

Second the recommendation for Za-Za in Florence. But, as for any recommendation in Florence, I suggest it for lunch rather than dinner. Still obtain reservations if you can. Trattoria Caslinga is another good one but absolutely requires reservations.

We loved Da Costantino in Positano. It is above the town. If you go tell Luigi hello for us.

I second the Il Mulino Verde. I was there in November with a Rick Steves tour. A group of us ate there both of our free nights - because it was the most reasonably priced place near us.
Down on the beach the prices were very high.
I did not venture up the hill from our hotel - because it was raining and we decided to go to a place close to the hotel.
Food was delicious and good prices.....

La Zagara is, I believe, the 'red roofed' place in center of town, covered with a red canvas that gives the whole place a rosy hue. Great during daylight. Chez Black is on the beach..a nice but less expensive, less pretentious place for dinner, good food. La Tagliata is outside of town. Must reserve, your hotel/bb can do that for you. They come and pick you up with a shuttle. Think a really high end buffet, but served at your table, includes unlimited wine and limoncello, for the fixed price of 35 euro. Highly recommended.
