My husband and I have booked a Rick Steves accommodation in Orvieto which includes a kitchenette. We are also staying a few days each in Lucca, Cinque Terre, the Lake Como area, the Dolomites, Venice and Rome. I don't see many RS recommendations with kitchenettes. Can anyone point us in the right direction for finding affordable back-door friendly places with kitchenettes?

We just found a flat with a kitchenette on VRBO.com in Florence. We use VRBO quite often and have always been happy.

Try the Venere site, they do the full range of accommodation from hotels, B&Bs to a variety of apartments including studios
