Kid Friendly Winery and/or Birthday Restaurant Recommendations (Tuscany)

I'll be celebrating my birthday while we are on holiday this June. On my actual birthday, we'll be in the Tuscany area. I sort of have this vision/dream of spending part of the day at a winery that does a tour/lunch combo type of thing. They'll be 7 of us in our group that will include my 2 kids (7&9)... Any recommendations for a winery that would be good for that with kids in tow (not tasting, of course :)). Alternatively, I would look for a restaurant to have a birthday lunch or dinner at - any recommendations for a place would be welcome too. We'll be staying close to Donnini but I'm open to making a traveling and making the day of it as we'll have a car too. Thanks much in advance!

Hopefully someone can make recommendations but will gently but firmly advise having designated drivers who will abstain from the wine. Italian drinking and driving laws are stricter than in the U.S. and it's a bad idea in unfamiliar territory to begin with. :O)

A hired driver might be a good solution as well.

Yes, we will definitely have a driver - my husband is not much of a wine drinker and would certainly be driving us, unless we choose to find some alternative transportation for the day.

We loved Castello di Verrazzano in Greve. This year we will be returning to Italy with our 4 yr old granddaughter. I contacted the winery and when I asked if our granddaughter would be allowed they replied “of course”. They offer a wonderful tour and lunch. If interested make reservations early. They also offer transportation from Florence for a fee.

Thank you! This sounds perfect and looks like they have availability for the food & wine tour on my birthday date! :)

A second recommendation for Castello di Verrazzano in Greve. The kids should like the tour of the grounds and the cellar. The lunch is fantastic and quite filling (we did not eat dinner that evening). When you book, let them know that you are bringing your children and ages as well as the fact that you are celebrating your birthday. The guides are wonderful and I am sure will make it special for you and your family.
