In case you have not noticed, the Trenitalia website is being updated to reflect new schedules effective December 12, 2010. New schedules for most of the fast trains (AV, ES-Fast, ES, ES-City) have been uploaded, but this is not yet the case for the "regionale" trains and even some of the IC trains (e.g., Rome/Sicily). That's why, for example if you check today, you won't find ANY regionale trains between Rome and Florence or Rome and Perugia, after December 11. But don't worry, there WILL be regionale train service, and the new schedules for regionale trains will likely be nearly identical to the current schedules, so by checking the regionale train schedules over the next 7 days will give you a very good idea of what the situation will be post-December 11. In any case, you can never book seats on the regionale trains, so you're not "missing out" on anything as you patiently wait for the website to be completely updated.
