The ITA Website has higher prices.

The cheaper price was in Kayak under the Guru Option Rate.

Reviews online seem decidedly mixed. I feel your pain because I have always done the same--search Kayak, book with airline. but I am finding this year that none of my results are linking to the airlines directly and are instead going to these types of consolidators.
I guess it depends on your risk tolerance. I get one trip a year, can't deal with the chance of aggravation.

It is a matter of risk tolerance. I wouldn’t feel comfortable not purchasing from the airline, but perhaps you are willing to risk.

Yes, I completely agree. More than likely, I will probably buy directly from the airline, spending extra, as I do not want to risk when taking a memorable, family vacation.
Do you all feel $1500 / person is the cheapest and to purchase now (one stop only)? I typically buy my international flights 6-9 months in advance, and I am now about five months from the trip as I am seeing prices start to increase.

Are you sure that kayak is showing the same flts and class of service as the airline site? If so, I would call the airline and ask if they will price match ( ITA-- From USA 877 793 1717)

Or if the flights are on Delta metal, contact them perhaps
