I am traveling to Florence with my wife and a friend in May and I am still confused on reservations for Uffizi. I've decided to buy Amici degli Uffizi cards and it seems that gets you in without a separate reservation. Is this correct? Do we just show the cards at the door and whoosh! we're in?

Chuck, that was our experience in January of 2012. No wait, no problems. Show your card and id and go thru security.
Just be aware that the sales desk is closed on Sunday and Monday. Open Tues-Sat 10:00 to 17:00. So depending on your arrival in Firenze, you may have an issue with timing to get the card.
