Just bought my Trenitalia tickets... made a mistake on names

I just made a dumb mistake.... I really don't think there is any fixing and that I will probably just have to re-buy. So here is what I did. i signed into my acct, typed everything in correctly( I thought), then printed my tickets, as usual.. Now i see that both tickets have the same name on them (husbands) birthdays are different, two different seats. So..... should I re-purchase or take the chance that they will let it fly.? Looked to see if there was some way to amend the ticket, but i don't see a way. Too bad, also. 2 for 1 ticket. Thanks

The name does not matter on train tickets; they do not check that.

Once in a while they might ask to see the credit card used for the purchase, but that is mostly when you are picking up tickets you bought ahead but could not print at home.

Here, you have the ticket and two seats. No worries.
And actually, when I think back to tickets I have bought online and printed, they just show my name ( the purchaser) and total number of people.

Also , on my order confirmation, it shows me as the buyer.

Trenitalia conductors working on high speed trains don't need and don't want to see the pdf file, they just want you to tell them the PNR code.

On regional trains they will just scan the QR code either from a display or from a piece of paper (or from a tattooed cheek if you like long term souvenirs)

All they want to see is two ticket from A to B on the right day and time. You not dealing with the airlines or the Am home land security. You are good to go.

Thanks all, for the reassurance. I will stay the course and just use the tickets as they are. Thought it was a decent price.. 60 Euro for both. Florence to Milan, Frecciarossa.

The fact that your name is on them and you are traveling means that the odds of a problem are even lower if they were to check ID. I did the same thing recently in france -- my name on both tickets (and my husband has a different last name) -- no one checked. Odds are VERY low that they would check ID or pay attention to names. If they were to do so, you would cope at that point.

With all the trains we've ridden in Italy and Switzerland in the last year, the only time they every checked names was on a train from Brig to Domodossola, Italy. It was a conductor checking not the Immigration police. I think it was more because of the border crossing. Never in Italy has anyone checked names. Usually, they scan one ticket, and the entire reservation comes up with the number of people (and dog in our case).

I regularly buy blocks of 20+ tickets on trenitalia every year when we take students to Europe. Every ticket has my name on it...nobody cares
