I was planning on going to Italy in September 2025. I would be in Rome for 3 days to see main sites and visit Vatican City and then move onto little towns and Cinque Terra. Will it be crazy crowded then? I have the ability to wait and go in April 2026. I am trying to decide if I plan ahead and buy tickets before if it will be manageable or will it just be too crowded. Any thoughts??

I sort of doubt the Jubilee will have a major impact on the Cinque Terre, but September is busy there; they are tiny towns on the Instagram circuit. What other places are you planning to go?
Rome will be crowded both in September 2025 and April 2026. In 2026 Easter (a very busy time in Rome) comes in early April, while the last portion of the month is near two national holidays (April 25 and May 1), both a very busy time in Rome. If you don’t like crowds, you should go between November and March. If you can’t, then bite the bullet and go whenever it is best for your schedule. Just be aware that June-September is also hot. The Cinque Terre is crowded also outside Nov-Mar, Jubilee or not, especially if a cruise ship is in town at the La Spezia cruise port when you go.
