You could start by getting a good guidebook, like the RS Rome book. Watch a few videos, like the 4 that are linked on this site: https://www.ricksteves.com/watch-read-listen/video/tv-show

There are plenty of others on YouTube. And use the search function here for threads specifically dealing with the Jubilee in Rome. You've left things late, but be sure to book all the necessary entry reservations for the various sites in advance.

I second CJean's suggestion for the RS Rome book. It has excellent information for ways to pack your visit with memories. With regard to Jubilee specifically, if you are interested in visiting the Holy Doors at the four basilicas, I recommend studying up on riding the Metro. All four churches are located close to the metro lines and that's going to be your most efficient method of transportation for crisscrossing the city. Enjoy your trip!

Hi welcome to the forum, you will love Rome. It is a beautiful city and most of the churches are free to enter. There are some amazing ones to see. Have a great trip.

wmbergmannm, the suggestion for the guidebook is a good one but it likely won't cover any Jubilee-specific info. If that is your main reason for taking the trip, you'll want to reference the official website for the event:

https://www.iubilaeum2025.va/en.html

There you'll find the calendar of events, any you need to register for and how to do that, info on the Holy Doors, etc. What it won't provide is sightseeing info in addition to Jubilee sites, restaurants, etc. So, a combo of the website provided, plus a guidebook, PLUS this forum, will provide most of what you need to plan your trip. :O)

My husband and I just got back from Italy and we loved it! We did two tours with The Roman Guy — the Trastevere Local Food Tour in Rome and Rome in a Day with the Colosseum and Vatican Museum — and both were amazing. Our guides were super fun, easy to talk to, and full of great info. We learned a lot and had such a good time. Everything was really well organized too. Definitely recommend The Roman Guy if you’re visiting Rome!

You should check their tours:

Hey! Rome is amazing—you’ll love it! Regarding the super limited tour of St. Peter’s tomb, my husband and I did it last year. My recommendations are: (1) provide as many possible tour dates when submitting your request, and (2) check your email while in Italy! They ended up emailing me the confirmation just a day or two before the tour. We had to be flexible but of course prioritized the tour (and it was worth it!). Happy to answer questions about the tour if you have them. Have fun!
