Joing Italy tour after business trip in Basel

I will be in Basel, Switzerland in Oct 24-25 on business and would like to know the best way to join a RS tour either right before or immediate after my business trip. I want to see at least Venice and Rome. Could you please give me some suggestion? Thanks a lot!

Not sure exactly what you are asking. You join a tour by signing up, pay the fee, and met the tour at the appointed hour and place. It is easy to find the tours. Click on the TOURS box above, on the lower left hand side you can search for available tours by the month. Put in Oct, hit search. Unfortunately you will notice that nearly all of the tours for Oct are full. You can add yourself to a waiting list but have no idea what happens to the waiting list. It is easy to do, so try it.

The Venice-Florence-Rome tour that ends Oct 24 has space. You might have to skip the last day or night depending on when you have to be in Basel.

kay, Your best bet would be to look for a tour before your business appointments. By the end of October, many of the tours will be done for the season, and also the weather will probably be better towards the beginning of October. As the others have mentioned, you could go on a "Waitlist" for a tour that you're interested in, however this is a bit "risky" and you could end up with NO tour. Based on the circumstances today, a couple of options you could consider. 1.) Book the Oct. 11-19 Heart of Italy tour. That covers Rome, but you'd need to fly to Venice a few days prior to the tour, in order to see Venice. At the end of the tour, fly or train to Basel for your business meetings. You could also spend a few days in Lucerne or the Berner Oberland prior to your meetigs (your choice). 2.) Join the "Waitlist" for the Oct. 10-19 Venice, Florence, Rome tour. You would again fly into Venice, and again fly or train to Switzerland at the conclusion of the tour. In any case, it would be a really GOOD idea to get the wheels in motion QUICKLY for whichever tour you're interested in! The Italy tours especially seem to book up quickly and long in advance. Have a look at the Italy tours and decide which one you most want to take. Give the ETBD tour department a call and explain your situation, as they may be able to offer some suggestions. Good luck and hope you find an open tour. You'll be in for a treat!
