I'm flying out of JFK to Milan also the very end of August and coming back in September. I found that to be the cheapest as well.

$651 for a non-stop on Emirates looks really good to me. If we didn't already have our tickets I would jump on it.

I purchased tickets about a week ago, they cost $936 but I'm flying from Dulles to JFK then to Milan. Still think it was a good deal.

sorry, should have been more precise. Its Dulles airport outside Washington DC to JFK
