Jewish Ghetto lodging

We will be in Rome for four days in March. Seeing al the major sights, of course.

Researching apartments to rent and found one in the Jewish Ghetto( though it was listed under Navona). It looks very nice,
price is right, etc.

Asking seasoned Rome travelers, is this a good location? A safe and worthy area?

We are four adults who all like to walk very much, but also would like luxury of metro and bus, just in case.. I've read a few things about the difficulty of navigating Rome.

Before I pull the trigger, would YOU stay in Jewish Ghetto area?

thanks!

Absolutely, yes. My family stayed in an apartment between Via Arenula and the Tevere, loved it. Piazza Navona is a few minutes' walk away. Bus transportation is easy, Largo Argentina is a hub for buses.

I would, happily, stay in that area of Rome, or even across the street towards Campo de'Fiori. It is all quite convenient.

I would never pull a trigger. Surely with all the carnage in the world more shooting is all we need.

That is a great location. Although we've never stayed in it, we've been through there any number of times and it's not only safe, there's quite a lot of interesting things to see in the general area.

So no, I wouldn't have an hesitation booking there. As far as transport, you may be surprised at the compactness of central Rome once you get the hang of it. It's a wonderful city to walk, and especially so in the Ghetto/Navona/ Campo de' Fiori neighborhoods. That aside, you'll be some distance from a metro station but as Zoe said, you'll have bus stops not far away.

Special mention? Take a walk through the ruins around Teatro Di Marcello and Portico d' Ottavia. There are citizens living in flats there with ancient Rome right on their doorsteps!
