I will be in Florence for a day and a haly in early Oct. We have been before, but did not get to do the Uffizi or the accademia. That is really the reason for our return to Florence. Can we do them both in that short time, and is there anything else we need to include if we have time? Thanks, Jeff
Yes, you can do both. Go here for a list of priorities for what to see in Florence
You can do both in a day (although exhausting) as long as you pre-book reservation times. Otherwise you will end up spending more than half the day in lines to get in!
Accedemia is fairly small where most people spend time in front of David and that is it. Uffizi it the opposite where it is easy to spend 3 hours in there! (I recommend making a list of the art you really want to see and focus on that!)
Other sites:
-Duomo and the museum that houses the work that used to be in the Duomo (including the original Golden gates pieces!).
-Fiesole, there is an incredible view and a good way to get away from the crowds for a bit!
If you stay in Florence ask your hortel to book both for you.One in the morning and the other in the afternoon. They do it for no charge.
