Itinerary questions

We are planning to spend a few days in London then travelling to Rome, Sorrento and then Cinque Terre before ending in Paris. I am looking for Suggestions on the trip. We have been to Rome before so we are only planning two to three nights there. We are not interested in Florence or Venice or Pompei. What would be the best way to get from London to Italy and where should we go first. Suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. We will be doing this trip in May of 2024

London to Rome will have the greater number of flight options. Fly to Paris either from Naples if leaving from Sorrento, or from Pisa if leaving from CT.

If you’re looking for things to do whilst in Rome and surrounding area, have you been to Ostia Antica? Lovely archaeological site and the town proper is nice, too.

Sorrento, Rome, and Cinque Terre are a bit spread out, OK if you are devoting enough time, how many days are you planning for this?

My point? If it is a week, drop either Sorrento or CT. If two, then OK.

If you're going to Sorrento but not interested in Pompeii then I assume you want to see the Amalfi Coast? If so I would recommend staying on the Amalfi Coast and not in Sorrento simply because of transportation challenges getting around the AC. On the other hand, we enjoyed Capri much more than the AC and would recommend it.

The Olympics are in Paris in July and a lot of the big sites are also being used as backdrops for some events including the Eiffel Tower, Versailles and the river. A lot of those areas are going to be limited as temporary seating is being built and taking over the spaces including the walkways along the river.
