After spending the first 13 nights of our trip in Rome, Florence, Lucca & somewhere in Tuscany, my friend would like to head to the Trento area as this is where her family is from. Anyone have any insight on that town e.g. things to see in the area, places to stay (we wouldn't have to stay in Trento but would like to be nearby). Thanks. Janet

Trento can refer to the city or to a large area around it; your friend should find out (if she doesn't already know) exactly where her family is from if she wants to go there; there may be a town closer than Trento. Example: my family is from Benevento, but the actual town is San Giovanni di Ceppaloni.
