Itinerary: Part 2- Ischia

After visiting Florence from 2 days in mid May, my husband and I plan to get a cab from our hotel, La Residenza de Pronsocola to SMN to catch either the 10:14 or 10: 48 Frecciarossa train to Naples Centrale. Arriving in Naples at either 1: 15 or 2:03, we would take a taxi to Beverello Pier to buy tickets for the hydrofoil to Forio with Alilauro at either 2: 35 or 3: 40, depending on which train we took from Florence.

  • Questions: Should we book the return train tickets in advance? How best to avoid being scammed by taxi drivers in Naples? Anything to see/eat at the pier while we wait for the ferry? Is the luggage storage on the ferry secure?

Arriving in Forio around 3: 50 or 4:55, we would either get a cab or take bus 172 to our hotel ( Semiramis de Charme) and relax there for the rest of the afternoon/evening. Dinner would be either via cab to and from either Agriturismo Malvisiello, Ristorante Tenuta Fasano, Agriturismo I Aapori della Nonna.

  • Question: are the busses in Ischia luggage friendly?

Day one in Forio is devoted to visiting Negombo spa, getting there by bus. We may have lunch at Annunziata dal 1936 (unless we get something at the spa), then will take the bus to Forio town and wander, stopping by Chiaia beach for a bit. Dinner at Terra e Sapori before heading back to the hotel.

Day two in Forio starts with a visit to - Giardini La Mortella, then lunch at La Tinaia before getting our luggage from the hotel and taking the 5:25 Alilauro ferry from Forio to Sorrento. Will then take a cab to Hotel Desiree and have dinner at either Ristorante Bagni Delfino, Il Monazzero di Teresina, Taverna Azzurra, Trattoria da Emilia.

As always, I appreciate feedback on my plans.
