Itinerary help in Winter - need ideas!

Hi! My boyfriend and I will be travelling for a couple of weeks in Italy from late dec/Jan. But of background - we've been to Rome, Florence and Venice before on a Contiki tour. We enjoy hitorical monuments, outdoor activities and eating! So a bit of our itinerary:
Fly from Berlin to Milan, arrive 29th Dec
Spend night in Milan, train to Rome on 30th
Rome for 4 nights
Arrive in Naples on 3rd Jan,Stay for 3 nights - go to Pompeii

We have available days where we can stay other places/ add nights in places, etc. just want some opinions of nice places to stay and explore. We would love to go to the Amalfi coast or something along those lines but don't quite know if places will be open, etc.

So if anyone has any other suggestions that would be greatly appreciated. We are also getting a flight from Naples to Barcelona, but these dates are not set in stone yet. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Instead of Naples, you could stay in Sorrento and day-trip everywhere - Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples by train, Positano, Ravello, Amalfi by bus, Capri by ferry . . .
