Itinerary Help- best days of week

Hello! We will be in Italy for 2 weeks the first of September. I've pretty much got everything set, except for specific days to do things in Tuscany. We will have Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday to complete my list in Tuscany. Ideally I would like to do Pisa/Luca one day, Siena one day, and a couple of the Cinque Terra towns one day. I'm leaving one day open for rest (if needed), cooking class/wine tour, or to head somewhere else suggested along the way.

Are there better days of the week to see the above? I think Pisa will be a short visit in the morning and then spend most of the day in Luca, but I'm open to suggestions. Ideally I would like to miss most of the Cruise crowds, but know it may not be avoidable.

Thanks!
Teri

When you're in Lucca, it's really fun to rent a bike and ride around the ramparts!

Teri, based on previous threads, you are traveling with a 15 month-old infant (and au pair) and intending on doing this by car from a base in San Gimignano? I may be in the minority here but the CT would be a longer day from S. Gimignano than I'd personally want to take on: abt. 3 hours each way + ditching the car somewhere and taking trains around the region. Something to think about, anyway? I know some folks do better with hours in a car/on transport than I do. :O)

If you are in San Gimignano, I would certainly not Go to the Cinque Terre with a small infant. To much of a hazzle.
Stick yourself to Siena, Lucca and eventually Pisa. Also there are plenty of nice places to drive to near San Gimignano and not so crowded and as beautiful. Why don’t you drive a few days to the Isle of ELBA or Isola del Giglio from Piombino or Porto Stefano (for Isila del Giglio) There are Mobby, Toremar ferries going there. Also there are plenty of quiet medieval towns or villages to discover around San Gimignano. Also you do not speak of Florence, Tuscany’s capital? Do you know it? It’s worth staying there 2 or 3 days if you do not know it. Also think what you would like best? Hotel or renting a vrbo apartment?
In a hotel, you might have quicker help if need be. In an apartment, you would be more quiet and not disturbed at 9-10 am to do the rooms.

Yes! We are traveling with 15 month old, au pair, and a friend from Sweden. I am not opposed to skipping CT, but it's part of my husband's bucket list. I will see if he's interested in some of the suggestions above! I was planning on ditching the car and doing train into one of the CT towns.

We are definitely not skipping Florence! We have 3 days there before we head to San Gim. I would love to go to Cortona (but sadly too far). I'm sure we will be pleased with almost any stop. Our baby is pretty pleasant, even with long travel days (he has been to NYC, Aruba, Mexico, Colorado). I'll look at some of your suggestions!

We are doing Airbnb all along our trip so we could afford more bedrooms and also have washer available with that messy baby :)

Thanks!
