Hello, I was wondering if anyone has a good itinerary to share for 2 weeks in Italy with the goal of seeing: Rome, Venice, Cinque Terre, and spending some time wine tasting in the Chianti/Tuscany region?? Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)
Hi Erin, My husband and I are going to Italy next month for 2 weeks, visiting mostly the same locations you described. We are flying into Venice and staying for 3 nights, then heading via train to the Cinque Terre for 3 nights, then Florence for 3 nights, and Rome for 5 nights. When we are in Florence we are doing a cooking class in Chianti, and we are going a day trip to Pompeii from Rome. We had played around with the idea of staying somewhere in Tuscany with a daytrip to Florence, but decided to do the opposite, as we did not want to rent a car. All of our travel is via train. Hope this helps!

Fly open-jaw to save backtracking. I'd find flights first - prices can differ a lot, then work out the itinerary. If it's possible, Venice is really the best place to start. You can kick back and soak up the atmosphere in a cafe or on the vaporetto (water bus) while getting over the jetlag. With your destinations, flying home from Rome would be good. What time of year?
Thanks for the suggestions! What airport do you fly into to start in Venice? It will be next June.
