Itinerary help (10 days, motorsports & beautiful places)

Family of four, 10 nights, two teenage boys who are AVID car enthusiasts, early June
Rome 3 nights (day trip to Pompeii - my husband's request and my boys will love it - I've been before)
Florence 2 nights (primarily to walk the city (skipping most museums) and bike outlying towns)
Cinque Terra 2 nights (really want to hike that CT! I know, I know terribly crowded)
Bologna 3 nights (Ferrari, Lambroghini & Pagani - 2 museums per day plus good food and scenery obviously!)

We started with CT as a day trip and only staying three places but were thinking that spending two nights would at least let us be there in the morning and evening - but it's for sure an outlier in our route.

Would appreciate constructive feedback!

Since you say that the Cinque Terre is an outlier, drop it. You have too much crammed into a ten day trip. Each time you move locations, you lose time. We hiked the CT over two full days pre- crowds.
In addition to all the auto locations, Bologna is a fabulous city!
So without the CT, you have two extra days. Rome needs at least one more day. Put the other day wherever you think it will be helpful. If it were me, I would add two days to Rome! or Bologna!

So only 6 full days, relocation times overwhelming time remaining for enjoyment.
